St. Mark’s Square was and still is the focus and epicenter of the Venice carnival. If you are in town during carnival time, sooner or later you’ll find yourself squeezed, bumped and buffeted by thousands of people all gathering there to be a part of the celebration. The most important official events are held in the spacious square, but the location is also a non-stop open space available for every sort of unexpected performance, offhand sketches, and sudden music shows. And, of course, the most amazing catwalk of masks and characters. Here is where you can really feel the beating heart of the feast.

Love how you framed this one. Awesome black and white!
